Cincinnati Bengals receiver Chad Ochocinco make a young fan dream com true

A Nine-year-old Ruben St. Hilaire, Jr, an ordinary boy who lives with this mother in a homeless shelter in New York City, received an autographed jersey from Ochocinco after sending a letter. He then sent a second letter that would have melted the heart of the hardest individual. Ruben's dream was to go to a football camp, and that particular prize was donated by Deion Sanders. Presenting the certificate for camp attendance, unbeknownst to Ruben, would be the very same Mr. Ochocinco. Ruben's hero was introduced after the young boy read his letter. It's really a dream he wants and surprisingly it was Ruben's birthday! Rich Eisen of the NFL Network set the scene at the podium, and what followed was a pretty great moment.

In the letter of Ruben "Mr. Johnson, you really make me happy. One of my goals in my future life is to be just like you when I grow up. I wonder who was your role model when you were little? I have three role model(s) in my life that's my mom, Mr. President Barack Obama and my favorite football player Mr. Chad Johnson. To me you are the best football player in the NFL. May God bless you and your family happy holidays."

NFL Playoffs Overtime Rules Could Change

The all new NFL season this year especially the postseason playoffs overtime could be change according to NFL spokesman, which will be in a meeting next month.

Under the new format of overtime, both teams could get the ball at least once unless the first team with the ball scores a touchdown. If the first team with the ball makes a field goal and the other team ties the game, action would continue until a team scores again. Under the current rules of overtime in any season, the first team to score wins.

The competition committee will discuss the new concept with teams and players at league meetings March 21-24,2010 in Orlando, Florida. This will come into a vote. At least two thirds of the teams would need to agree to the changes for new rules to be adopted.

The new rules was debated after the NFC Championship Game, when New Orleans beat Minnesota 31-28 in overtime and Brett Favre's Vikings never got the ball in the extra period. Under the proposed rule, Minnesota would have had another possession because it didn't allow a touchdown.

Overtime was adopted for regular-season games in 1974, and the sudden-death format allowed games to end in a tie if neither team scored in 15 minutes. Overtime for playoff games always has been sudden death.

Drew Brees Super Bowl 2010 MVP

Drew Brees tied a Super Bowl record with 32 successful completions to win the Super Bowl Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award of 2010. The first game of the 2009 season of New Orleans Saints vs Detroit Lions, Drew Brees set a career-high and franchise-tying record with six touchdowns, going 26 for 34 with 358 yards with a quarterback rating of 137.00. Which makes a record for most touchdowns on opening weekend.

On the second week, Brees led the Saints to a 48-22 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, throwing three touchdowns with a passer rating of 118.6. Brees also tied the record for most touchdowns by the end of week 2 with 9.

Seventh week, Brees led a dramatic comeback victory on the road against the Miami Dolphins, 46-34. The Saints quickly faced a 24-3 deficit in the second quarter, trailing for the first time all season at that point. He had a poor outing, but provided two crucial rushing touchdowns, one just before the second half to narrow the deficit to 24-10, and one in the third quarter to give the Saints their first lead of the game, 37-34.

Following the week eight, Brees threw for 308 yards on 25 of 33 passing along with two touchdowns and one interception in leading the Saints to a 35-27 victory and franchise tying best start at 7-0 against the rival Atlanta Falcons.

In week 9, Brees helped guide the team to a 30-20 victory over the Carolina Panthers in the Louisiana Superdome. This would be Drew's first victory over the Carolina Panthers in the Superdome and allowed the Saints to take their best ever start in franchise history at 8-0.

In week 12, Brees led the Saints to an 11-0 record, defeating the New England Patriots 38-17 on Monday Night Football. Drew Brees totaled 371 yards passing, posting a perfect quarterback rating of 158.3.

After close victories over the Washington Redskins and Falcons in successive weeks, Brees and the Saints succumbed to their first loss against the Dallas Cowboys in week 15. The team continued to slide in the coming weeks, losing in Week 16 and 17 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Carolina Panthers, respectively. The Saints finished the year with a 13-3 overall record, tops in the NFC.

Brees' individual statistics led to numerous accolades, including a Pro Bowl selection, the Maxwell Football Club's Bert Bell Award, and runner-up in voting for the AP MVP, Offensive Player of the Year, and All-Pro awards. He finished the season with a completion percentage of 70.62 which established a new NFL record.

In the divisional round of the playoffs, the Saints routed the Arizona Cardinals to advance to the NFC Championship, where they defeated the Minnesota Vikings 31-28. Brees completed 17 of 31 passes for 191 yards and 3 touchdowns.

National Football League Primary Logo

The National Football League iconic logo was unveil at the NFL draft in April, 2008. Compare to the previous logo since 1980, the present logo has a revamped shield that slightly taller and thinner, fewer stars and darker colors than the first logo.

The new shield features eight stars (representing the eight AFC and NFC divisions) vs. 25 on the current logo. Why 25? It's a mystery. After researching the shield's origins, the designers could find no reason for 25 stars, says Jaime Weston, director of brand and creative operations. The shield logo was first used around 1940, two decades after the NFL's founding in 1920.

The football at the center has been redesigned to resemble the ball atop the Vince Lombardi championship trophy, says Baird. It replaces the old-fashioned pigskin nicknamed the "Hamburger" inside league offices.

National Football League

The regular season is a seventeen-week schedule during which each team plays sixteen games and has one bye week. The season currently starts on the Thursday night in the first full week of September (the Thursday after Labor Day) and runs weekly to late December or early January. At the end of each regular season, six teams from each conference play in the NFL playoffs, a twelve-team single-elimination tournament that culminates with the championship game, known as the Super Bowl. This game is held at a pre-selected site which is usually a city that hosts an NFL team.
